This Safer Patient Handling course is designed to equip healthcare professionals and support staff with the essential knowledge and techniques to move and handle patients safely and effectively. It highlights the importance of protecting both patients and staff from injury, promoting dignity, and maintaining compliance with health and safety legislation. The course focuses on practical guidance for reducing risk and supporting best practice in manual handling within healthcare settings.
This course is ideal for anyone involved in the movement or handling of patients, including nurses, healthcare assistants, carers, physiotherapists, porters, and support workers in hospitals, care homes, and community care environments. It’s also relevant for line managers and health and safety representatives responsible for overseeing safe handling practices.
At the end of the course, you will take a test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions with a required pass rate of 85%
Upon successful completion, you will be able to download and print a digital certificate if required. The main course certificate is valid for three years, with refresher courses available and recommended every 12 months.
