Our 5S Training Course provides employees and management with the training and skills to introduce, maintain and improve on all of the requirements of 5S.
5S is a Quality Assurance Management technique that was developed in Japan and is now heavily used throughout the world in the manufacturing and services industry. The training course's purpose is to improve efficiency, reduce waste and improve safety within the workplace.
5S training is designed to be easy and cheap to introduce and involve all of the workforce.
In a nutshell, the cornerstone of 5S is that ‘untidy, cluttered work areas are not productive. Junk gets in everybody's way and dirt compromises quality’.
ISA can provide your staff and management with the training and skills to introduce, maintain and improve on all of the requirements of 5S.
Understanding 5S Training
5S is the name of a workplace organisational method derived from the five Japanese words: seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke. These can be translated to the English 'sort', 'set in order','shine', 'standardize', and 'sustain'. 5S was developed in Japan and has since been identified as one of the biggest contributing factors to the conception of 'just in time' manufacturing.
5S training and techniques are now practiced all across the world but most significantly within the manufacturing industry. Since conception it has seen rapid growth within a wide variety of industries including health care, education and government.
The 5S training programme offers many benefits including:
1. Working areas that are greater organized,
2. Safer, more efficient and more easily accessible, which could do more for business than doubling sales!
3. An easy system for workers to follow
4. Encourages high quality work
5. Greater employee satisfaction
5S training refers to mainly workplace organization, optimisation and standardization. Many managers believe 5S training helps to lay the lean groundwork and develops the lean discipline for every department within your company.
