Course Description

 

This refresher course offers an essential update on best practices and legal requirements for preventing falls in the workplace. It revisits key topics such as hazard identification, safe working at height methods, and proper use of fall protection systems. Delivered as an online module, it’s designed to be efficient and effective, ensuring that participants stay current with current standards and maintain competency in fall prevention strategies.

Who is this for?

This course is intended for anyone who works at height or supervises work at height, including site managers, safety officers, maintenance staff, and operatives. It’s especially suitable for people who have already completed a falls prevention or work-at-height training previously and need to refresh their understanding to ensure their practices remain safe, compliant, and up to date.

Course Content:

  • Review of fall hazards and how they commonly arise in worksites
  • Methods of controlling risks when working at height
  • Safe use and inspection of fall protection equipment (e.g. harnesses, guardrails, safety nets)
  • Best practices for planning for work at height (pre-checks, risk assessments)
  • Emergency procedures and rescues related to fall incidents
  • Legal and regulatory requirements, responsibilities of employers and employees in fall prevention
  • Updating knowledge of any changes in guidance or standards since initial training

Test and Certification:

At the end of the course, you will take a test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions with a required pass rate of 85%
Upon successful completion, you will be able to download and print a digital certificate if required. The main course certificate is valid for three years, with refresher courses available and recommended every 12 months.
