Course Description

This refresher training is designed to reinforce essential knowledge and skills for the safe mounting, handling, and use of abrasive wheels. It ensures that participants remain compliant with health and safety regulations, understand current best practices, and continue to work safely with cutting, grinding, and polishing equipment. The course revisits core safety principles and updates users on any changes in legislation or equipment standards.

Who is this for?

This course is intended for individuals who have previously completed abrasive wheels training and need to refresh their knowledge due to time elapsed, changes in workplace procedures, or updated legislation. It is suitable for operators, supervisors, and anyone responsible for the use or maintenance of abrasive wheels in industries such as construction, fabrication, maintenance, engineering, and manufacturing.

Course Content:

  • Overview of abrasive wheels regulations and safety standards
  • Types of abrasive wheels and their specific uses
  • Hazards associated with abrasive wheels and how to avoid them
  • Safe mounting procedures and wheel checks
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Correct storage, handling, and inspection of wheels
  • Common causes of accidents and how to prevent them
  • Practical demonstrations or reviews of tool use (if applicable)
  • Updates on legislation or guidance (if changed since original training)

Test and Certification:

At the end of the course, you will take a test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions with a required pass rate of 85%
Upon successful completion, you will be able to download and print a digital certificate if required. The main course certificate is valid for three years, with refresher courses available and recommended every 12 months.

Main Course Duration: Approximately 22 minutes (excluding the final test time)
